Little Onyx Dress

Ah, what woman doesn’t love “a little black dress”? While the term usually refers to a classic silhouette, it often evokes a tired shift. Kudos to brands that are trying to reinvent the stale concept. Barron Duquette Reese understands that, just because the word “little” is part of the moniker, your outfit does not have to be a mini. Let’s face it – there are more subtle ways to indicate the slow emergence of summer than by showcasing your panties for the world to see. For instance, take a look at this beauty from SmartBargains’ all-encompassing vaults.

This “onyx” dress is just short and black enough to qualify for the label “little black dress” that piques men’s and women’s curiosity, albeit for different reasons. Instead of the lack of length, an image reminiscent of a seashell decorates the garment to make us think of the warm weather. And, at 69% off, how can you pass it up?

Go on, join the party. While you’re there, don’t forget to pay with PayPal for an extra 20% off. With saving like these, you might just have enough cash left over for those silver shoes to go with the outfit.

Less is More

Don't you love the fashions of stores, such as H&M? I do. I never shop there, though. Why? Simply don't like the quality of their clothes. They appear as if they might fall apart any minute--flimsy design and thin fabric look great only far away. Since you are not a Monet painting, you might want a piece of clothing with a bit more substance. Those who are unwilling to compromise their sense of style, cheer up. You don't have to live on packaged dry noodles to be able to dress well. Buy summer clothes during winter and vice versa. Scout Target and Smartbargains. Or, better yet, check out LaRedoute.

A couple of years ago, I was introduced to this French shop by my sister-in-law (Thanks, Patrycja). It carries extremely cute clothes that are very reasonably priced. Some famous French designers contribute to the store's offerings. Hip, interesting, colorful and practical, LaRedoute's selection is one of the best out there.

Just take a look at these shoes. They've been calling my name for months now. Fashionable, classy, semi-comfortable. What more do you want from pumps? Well, maybe another $15 off the sale price. But, if you think $45 is not too much to spend on your basic black heels, go for it. You definitely have my seal of approval. If you wear size 7.5 (or 8 since there are no half-sizes), can I borrow them sometimes?

Round-toe Leather Heels SALE $44.99 Was $59.99

If you do decide to try out LaRedoute, use the following coupon. Coupon #1657-01647-368 gives you $10 off $75, $15 off $100 or $25 off $150. Hurry, it expires today!

Don't have time to browse this evening? Use coupon #1651-01704-368 to get a free necklace with any order.

Bon Soir!

Don't part "with" money

How does one look "with-it" without spending a fortune on the current trends?

  • Update jewelry and accessories

  • Check out trendy teen stores (the same accessories, lower prices)
  1. Forever 21
  2. H&M
  3. Target
  4. $15 Store
  5. Alloy
  • Avoid Gap and Old Navy (I have nothing against cookie-cutter deserts, though)
  • Patronize JCPenney's Nicole Miller section and Bisou Bisou (Yes, that's JC Penney)
  • Shop at Wrentham Village Outlets (if you live in the N. East)
  • Be discriminating at Classic Closeouts (free shipping over $40 and frequent $10 off $50 coupons)
  • Visit DealCoupon to save on your online purchases
  • Check out Zappos' shoes sale section (free shipping rules!)
  • Pay attention to Nordstrom's 70% off sale
  • Rummage through Sephora's sale stock to find great make-up, perfume and skincare deals (Soon, soming to a JC Penney near you; thank you, Budget Fashionista)
  • Explore SmartBargains and Overstock to find designer clothes at a fraction of their original prices (both offer flat-rate shipping and periodic coupons)
  • Do not shop on an empty stomach
